Optometric Technician
Responsibilities
Work up patients for exams, issues, etc Document: medical history update, read lenses, take IOP, Auto Refraction, etc
Sell eyewear: Frames, Lenses, Tints, Coatings, etc
Dispense eyewear to patients
Frame repair and adjustments
Order frames and lenses from labs and manufacturer; reorder as needed to redo order or replace under warranty.
Perform testing as scheduled or requested by doctors: HVF, OCT, Macula Risk, etc
Contact lenses (CL): Train new CL wearers in wear and care, insertion and removal
Order CL from manufacturer to maintain CL inventory
Keep frame room, lab, and CL room neat and organized
Work/train with representatives for Frame/Lens/Medications/CL companies
Stay current with all that pertains to exams, lenses, frames, coatings, CL, testing equipment and office procedures
Post the jobs ordered for the day: self pay, vision and other insurances
Open or close work areas by turning on or off all equipment as needed
Keep a good attitude and excellent communication skills with patient, doctors, and co workers
Maintain patient confidentiality
Candidates accepted must be eager to learn; will train the right person.

Bilingual is helpful but not required
Must be polite, personable, respectful, clean and tidy, humble.
Must be organized and able to multitask
Must be computer literate and able to type information accurately

Medical Desk Receptionist
Busy, established Optometry practice is looking for a Medical Desk Receptionist. This position requires excellent communication skills, providing and coordinating patient care with Doctor and office staff. Will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Good oral, written and phone skills necessary
Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office
Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary
Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients
Register new patients and update necessary records
Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately
Generate referrals as requested by the provider
Insurance verification
Knowledge of insurance with regard to copay/deductible
Collecting of patient balances, co payments and deductibles. End of day balancing
Some billing is required
Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering
Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, and welcoming
Opening or closing the office as scheduled
All other duties as assigned
Uphold the positive reputation of our medical office by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner
Skills:
